Seth Weissman

Founder & Managing Member

Seth Weissman is the Founder and Managing Member of Urban Standard Capital. Seth manages New York City focused investment funds including core-plus, value-add, and debt strategies. Previously, Seth worked in the real estate private equity group of Perry Capital, a multi-strategy hedge fund, and for Goldman Sachs & Co. in their Investment Banking Division. At Perry Capital, Seth worked on equity and debt investments across multiple asset classes including more than $400M worth of transactions representing over 2M square feet of office, multi-family, hospitality, and retail space. Seth also helped lead the “hard money” and bridge lending platform, which provided short-term loans on real estate assets throughout the United States.

In 2008, Real Estate New York named Seth one of their 30 Under 30 rising stars of commercial real estate, and in 2011, the New York Observer named Seth as one of their 50 most influential LGBT leaders.

Seth earned his B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.

Charlie Brosens

Vice President – Acquisitions & Originations

Charlie Brosens is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and underwriting prospective deals. Prior to working for Urban Standard Capital, Charlie worked for Alden Global Capital, a $2B hedge fund, where he assisted the firm in rationalizing real estate expenses across their portfolio companies. Specifically, he led Payless ShoeSource' real estate team and assisted the retailer through a restructuring where he monetized the company's real estate holdings and reduced their store footprint. Before working for Alden Global Capital, Charlie worked for The Ardent Companies, where he was responsible for underwriting and originating commercial real estate investments of all asset classes in the Southeast.

Charlie earned his A.B. in Philosophy from Princeton University and his M.B.A. from Columbia University
