Yieldstreet investor communication policy

As an investor-first company, we always appreciate hearing feedback from our investor community. What we’ve heard most recently is that investors would like more frequent updates, and as such we will be providing monthly updates for all investments that are not currently Performing.

The current status of how an investment will be categorized at a given month can be found below:

Performing

This investment is performing in line with initial expectations. You will receive updates if there are any material developments related to this investment.

Modified outlook

This investment is performing outside of initial expectations as described below. You will receive updates if there are any material developments related to this investment.

Partial default

The borrower received a notice of default on the underlying loan as of this date. However, at least one loan in a portfolio of multiple loans has been paid in full and/or more than 50% of the initial principal investment has been repaid. You will receive monthly updates on this investment.

Default

The borrower received a notice of default on the underlying loan as of this date. You will receive monthly updates on this investment.

Yieldstreet has committed to sending monthly updates for any investment that is not currently Performing. As we report monthly, you may often see that there are no major developments from the previous month. Investors can anticipate receiving an email that monthly updates have been posted to accounts on the last business day of each month, should an investment be included. Once posted, updates can be found in the ‘Activity’ section of Investor Portfolios.

Should an investment fall into the Modified Outlook, Default or Partial Default category, a sub-category identifying the Plan of Action will also be visible. This is to help investors better understand the severity of the current situation. Please reference our article on The nature of the loan workout process, explained. Plan of Action for investments in the Modified Outlook, Default or Partial Default category will be broken down into the below buckets:

  1. Initial actions: This is common for investments in ‘Modified outlook,’ as our first step in this process will be to evaluate our options, potentially enhance supervision of the borrower, increase monitoring activities, gather additional information, etc.
  2. Negotiated workout: Working with the borrower on strategies that can include refinancing options and/or modifications of underlying loan terms such as payment deferrals, loan extensions, forbearances, covenant waivers, and other amendments or waivers, for example.
  3. Recovery: No longer working with the borrower, but pursuing options that can involve restructuring the underlying asset or business in order to create value, foreclosure proceedings or litigation, for example.

Protecting your investment is our top priority. We thank you again for your valuable feedback and look forward to staying in close contact. As always, if you have any questions, please reach out to us at [email protected].
